Locations (Branches & Warehouses)

Mapping Your Physical Infrastructure

Before you can add products to inventory, the system needs to know where that inventory lives. Oishia requires you to map out your physical footprint using Locations.

Types of Locations

  • Warehouses: Non-selling hubs used strictly for bulk storage and fulfillment dispatch.
  • Retail Branches: Locations that can actively process Point of Sale (POS) transactions.
  • Vehicles: Mobile locations assigned to Van Sales drivers for remote stock tracking.

Tutorial: Creating a New Retail Branch

  1. Navigate to Settings > Locations.
  2. Click the blue + Add Location button in the top right.
  3. Select the location type: Retail Branch.
  4. Enter the Branch Name (e.g., "Downtown Flagship").
  5. Input the precise physical address. This address will be printed on receipts generated at this branch.
  6. Assign a specific Cash Register account to this branch. If you do not have one set up yet, the system will prompt you to create a default "Main Drawer" account.
  7. Click Save Location.

Pro-Tip: Inter-Branch Visibility

By default, branch managers cannot see inventory levels at other branches. If you want them to be able to request stock from other stores, you must enable "Global Inventory Visibility" in the Location settings.
